Eagles Come Back Late, Nip Dynamos | The Detroit Dynamos got a sterling performance from pitcher Jim Norris, but the Washington Eagles still prevailed, 3-2. Norris threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. Washington has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
The Eagles beat the Dynamos in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Ralph Weatherbee produced in the top of the ninth. Batting against Follis, Weatherbee gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a 2-run single.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Detroit manager Verlin Alexander. | |
