The Cincinnati Cannons got a good effort from starter Herm Quinn in defeating the Cleveland Foresters at Forester Stadium. The final score was 3-1. Quinn picked up the win for Cincinnati, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 8-6.
In the top of the fifth, Mike Rocque delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Cincinnati first baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Cannons in front, 3-1.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Rocque.
The 4th-place Cannons improved to 37-39.
