Dynamos Resilient in 6-5 Win Over Los Angeles
The Detroit Dynamos overcame a good performance by Los Angeles left fielder Bill Calvin to knock off Los Angeles, 6-5, at Thompson Field. Calvin went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Suns dropped to 47-30.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the ninth when Jack Lucas hit a run-scoring double off two-time All-Star Joe Kienle to win the game for Detroit. The home crowd went wild.

"We took home the win," said Lucas. "What's not to like?"
