| Sailors Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus New York | The home crowd had a good time watching the New York Imperials and San Francisco Sailors get after it.
Edwin Hackberry made an impact in the 7-4 San Francisco win over New York. Hackberry, who won the Kellogg Award in 1947, was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Charlie Lawson, who finished 4th in the CA in innings pitched with 238.1 last year, was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.
