| Saints Deal Milwaukee 7-1 Defeat | Montreal pitcher Hal Bennett had a large part in his team beating the Milwaukee Arrows, 7-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Bennett. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Tex Cavanaugh. After today's action, Montreal sits at 39-38; Milwaukee slips to 42-31.
Jules Tucker had a big solo home run for the Saints in the top of the second inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a splitter from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Tex Cavanaugh and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Saints on top, 2-0.
"Felt great, felt really good," said Bennett. | |
