| Clippers 5-2 Winners Over Washington | The Washington Eagles got a sterling performance from pitcher Don Eddy, but the Baltimore Clippers still prevailed, 5-2. Eddy threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Baltimore goes to 39-35, Washington to 29-46.
Had Amos Johnson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Johnson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Clippers.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Johnson. | |
