| Wolves Defeat Stars, 4-1 | The Toronto Wolves racked up a win at Bigsby Stadium, bumping off the Los Angeles Stars, 4-1, in 10 innings. Jimmy Pepper, who started for Toronto, pitched effectively for his team. The loss has the Stars at 15-12.
The result might have been different, had it not been for four-time All-Star Tom Reed. Reed had a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Wolves ahead, 2-1. For the game, Reed had 1 double and 3 singles in 4 at-bats.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Toronto skipper Randy Hohlt. "I can't complain."
