| Cougars Win at San Francisco, 7-1 | Chicago took on San Francisco in front of a lively crowd.
Chicago turned a fine outing from starter Pug White into a victory over the San Francisco Sailors at Golden Gate Stadium. The final score was 7-1. The Sailors fall to 7-10 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Chicago used a well-timed hit by Andy Babel to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Cougars ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a good win," said Chicago manager Pug Bryan. "Not without blemish, but good."
