The Cleveland Foresters cut down the Montreal Saints by the score of 9-8, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Sherry Doyal. Doyal went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Foresters. The Saints fall to 7-21 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1962 season.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Cleveland third baseman Jerry Hubbs, facing Cliff Dinger, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Foresters the 9-8 win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Doyal said.
