| Foresters Pick Up 6-4 Win Against Cincinnati | Cleveland and Cincinnati duked it out and the Foresters came out victorious.
Cleveland right-hander Charlie Sawyer pitched his team to victory over the Cincinnati Cannons at Forester Stadium. The final score was 6-4. Sawyer got the win, improving to 5-7. He gave up 6 hits and walked 4 over 8.2 innings. He allowed 4 runs. Ted Thierry got credit for the save for Cleveland. It was his 1st of the year.
Orlando Benitez, the Cleveland left fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 5-3, Foresters. For the game, Benitez went 1 for 4 with a walk. He scored 2 runs.
Benitez told a Cleveland Observer reporter that he was "very happy" with the win.
