Williams Swings Kings to 7-1 Win | Kansas City and Toronto got after it at Dominion Stadium.
The Kansas City Kings beat the Toronto Wolves, 7-1, at Dominion Stadium. Hank Williams, who finished 2nd in the CA in runs with 117 in 1958, starred for Kansas City. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Kansas City pitcher Jack Halbur got the win. He's now 10-3. Arnie Smith was tagged with the loss.
With Kansas City leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Williams hit a fastball from Arnie Smith for a 2-run home run. It was his 26th home run of the season and put the Kings ahead, 3-0.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Williams.
Kansas City goes to 59-31. The win puts them 2 games up in their division. | |
