Rusty Robertson impressed in the 5-4 Minneapolis win over Houston. Robertson, the 4th overall pick in the 1966 draft, went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Del Robinson was the winner in relief. His record is now 7-0. The losing pitcher was Bob Young. The defeat makes Houston 39-35.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Bill Powell came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Houston pitcher Bob Young, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Minneapolis on top, 5-4.
