| Minneapolis Downs Chicago, 7-5 | The Minneapolis Millers weathered an outstanding game by Chicago left fielder Andy Ellefsen to topple the Chiefs, 7-5. Ellefsen went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. Minneapolis reliever Bill Burkhart snagged the win, upping his record to 2-0. Norm Sutherland shouldered the loss. The triumph puts Minneapolis at 39-36 for the season.
Minneapolis right fielder George Fisher helped the Millers go up, 6-5, in the top of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Fisher hit a run-scoring single off Chicago pitcher Norm Sutherland.
