The Houston Comets rode a solid performance from 33-year-old starting pitcher Spencer Reese to a win, beating the Detroit Dynamos, 2-0, at Dalton Domed Stadium. With the win, Houston upped its record to 39-34.

Reese, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 4-5. In 8.2 innings of work, Reese gave up no runs on 2 hits, while racking up 6 Ks. He kept the Dynamos punchless, offensively.

"I go out there and do my job," said Reese, "knowing I've got eight other guys to help me out."
