| Mavericks Fall to Wranglers Late | Dallas pitcher Ed Smith had a large part in his team subduing the Kansas City Mavericks, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The defeat makes Kansas City 29-45.
Dallas used a timely hit from Roscoe Daniels to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wranglers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Daniels described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game. | |
