Foresters Collect 9-8 Win Over Saints
The Cleveland Foresters needed 10 innings to beat the Montreal Saints, 9-8, at Forester Stadium. The win was due in part to first baseman Paul Williams, who went 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Sonny Stoyer, now 7-2, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 1. The second-place Foresters improved to 67-46.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth, an error by the Saints allowed the Foresters to score the winning run.

"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Howe said in postgame remarks.
