| Wranglers Score Late, Stun Cougars, 2-1 | The Dallas Wranglers earned a close win over the Chicago Cougars, thanks in part to Larry Perry. The Dallas right-hander, who leads the CA in innings pitched with 121.2, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Perry got the win, improving to 5-8. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Asbury Ashmore closed the game out for Dallas, earning his 7th save.
Dallas used the timely hitting of Ed Norris to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wranglers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every time I step on the mound, I want to go out there and compete and bring my best game," said Perry.
Dallas goes to 35-38, Chicago to 38-36.
