Keystones Pull Out Late-Game Win, 7-6 | The Philadelphia Keystones did just enough to secure a victory over the Chicago Chiefs, 7-6, in 17 innings at Broad Street Park II. Nobody did more than pitcher Jim Heitzman. Heitzman got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. The Keystones saw their record improve to 65-42.
Tom Cooprider delivered a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the 17th to win it for the Keystones. For the game, Cooprider was 3-6 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Cooprider told a Philadelphia Today reporter that he felt "ecstatic" after the win. | |
