Imperials Win by Slim Margin, 4-3 | New York registered a win at Dyckman Stadium by beating the Dallas Wranglers, 4-3. Pitcher Hank Short was one reason why the Imperials triumphed. The Imperials, with just their 4th win in 21 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Joe Dorch came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dallas pitcher Chet Baker, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 4-3.
"Hank was able to execute his pitches," said New York manager Ed Ziehl. "Simple as that." | |
