| Arrows Get Clutch Win, 2-1 | Milwaukee turned a good effort from starter Tex Cavanaugh into a win over the Cincinnati Cannons at Tice Memorial Stadium II. The final score was 2-1. The first-place Arrows improved to 43-32.
Milwaukee used the timely hitting of Earl Johnson to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Arrows on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Cavanaugh told the Milwaukee Herald, "Like I've always said, the challenge is what makes this game worth playing."
