| St. Louis Tacks 5-3 Loss on Detroit | The St. Louis Pioneers withstood a fine game by Detroit first baseman Lou Strader at Thompson Field, to upend the Dynamos, 5-3. Strader was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Tige Bowe, the winner, improved to 8-7. He held the Dynamos to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 4. Roy McDonald recorded the save for St. Louis, his 19th of the season.
Sam Peterson dealt the Dynamos a blow in the top of the fifth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and St. Louis leading 1-0, Peterson, who finished 4th in the FA in hits with 177 in 1968, hit a 2-2 slider for a 2-run single.
St. Louis manager Babe Johnson called it "a darn good win."
