| Clippers Bump Off Keystones, 4-3 | The Baltimore Clippers picked up a win at Patapsco Field, topping the Philadelphia Keystones, 4-3. On the mound for Baltimore was right-hander Pat Fortier. He played a principal role in the triumph. In 6.2 innings, Fortier surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Larry Warren earned the save for Baltimore, his 8th of the year.
In the bottom of the sixth, Baltimore shortstop Jack Goodman gave his team the lead. With two out and the bases loaded, Jack Rabbit hit his 12th double of the year. Philadelphia pitcher Jorge Arellano surrendered it. With that, the Clippers jumped in front, 4-2.
"Pat giving us the start that he did was huge," said Baltimore manager Hank Luckenbaugh.
The victory gives the Clippers a record of 39-32.
