Starting pitcher Richie Thornton pitched well enough to help the Boston Minutemen beat the Minneapolis Millers, 4-3. Picking up his 3rd save was 28-year old left-handed pitcher Bud Shireman. The win takes Boston to 9-7.

Boston took the lead, 4-2, on Jim Morton's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Minneapolis pitcher Jack Turner in the bottom of the seventh.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Thornton.
