Minutemen Pull Out Late Win, 3-2 | In a low-scoring tilt between the Boston Minutemen and the Philadelphia Keystones, George Kollock, who finished 3rd in the FA in saves with 22 last year, was the difference-maker. The Boston right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Boston reliever Don Griffin was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Jim Elliott took the loss. Boston has now won 3 in a row.
Bill Newhall was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Minutemen center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
