| Wranglers Deal Cougars 6-3 Defeat | The Dallas Wranglers beat the Chicago Cougars, 6-3. Dallas pitcher and Alamosa, Colorado, native Rick Edwards led the way. In 8 innings, Edwards surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Asbury Ashmore closed the game out for Dallas, earning his 6th save.
Dallas used a clutch at-bat from John Miller to capture the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Wranglers ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Miller.
Dallas is now 34-38, Chicago 38-35.
