Cannons Win in 14
The Cannons faced a stiff challenge from Cleveland pitcher Adrian Czerwinski, but persevered to claim a win at Forester Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Czerwinski went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. The win was credited to 25-year old left-handed pitcher Bill Barnard in relief. His record improves to 4-4. Frank Carey took the loss. Cincinnati has now won 4 in a row.

Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Willie Watson to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Cannons on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Cleveland manager Jim Whitehead.
