| Wells Bewilders Legislators in 6-0 Shutout | Jersey City pitcher Joseph Wells put on a show and walked away with a shutout victory, 6-0, over the Albany Legislators, throttling them on 4 hits. He cruised through the Legislators lineup, fanning 5 and walking 2 in a strong outing.
"He was very efficient and he hit his spots," Sparrows manager Ted Mielke said after the game. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate."
