A 4-RBI performance from first baseman Johnny Adams, who finished 3rd in the FA in on-base percentage with .410 in 1970, led the Houston Comets to a win over the Detroit Dynamos, 14-2. For the Dynamos, the loss makes them 6-12.

Houston second baseman Maury Moore contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a bases-clearing double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Comets ahead, 11-2.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Detroit manager Roger Cleaves.
