The Chicago Chiefs topped the Boston Minutemen, 7-6, in Federal Association action at Whitney Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Chicago pitcher Joe Cipolla. Chicago now sits at 56-48, while Boston falls to 47-61.

Ed Bloom was the walk-off hero for Chicago. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Chiefs first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"On the outside I was calm," said Chiefs manager Dutch Becker. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."
