| Copperheads Middleton Tames Washington | In a seemingly effortless performance, Marco Middleton of the Atlanta Copperheads shot down the Washington Eagles, 1-0, on 3 hits.
"Marco was just locating so well and using his pitches," Atlanta manager Don Fox said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Middleton recorded 10 strikeouts and 3 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Washington manager Joe D'Aprile said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
This year, Middleton has compiled a 11-1 mark with a 2.69 ERA. | |
