Millers Dealt 6-5 Loss by Chicago
The Chicago Chiefs beat the Minneapolis Millers, 6-5, in part because of right fielder Bob Starr. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Nate Carr. He tossed 111 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits. Hal Alsip was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.

With Chicago leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Starr hit a changeup from Charlie Martin for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 6-3.

"I was seeing the ball well tonight," said Starr.

With the loss, Minneapolis drops to 9-9.
