Victory Pushes Wranglers Record to 6-6 | The Dallas Wranglers and San Francisco Sailors played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
George Fuller pitched well, but the San Francisco Sailors still lost the game, falling, 3-1, to the Dallas Wranglers at Norris Stadium. Sid Moulton earned the win, while 23-year old left-handed pitcher George Fuller took the loss for San Francisco. Gene Amico closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.
The Wranglers got a big at-bat from left fielder Ed Thompson. For the game, Thompson was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Dallas a 2-1 lead.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Thompson, "one at-bat at a time."
The Sailors fall to 4-8 and continue their lackluster start to the 1962 season. | |
