| Sailors Top Mavericks, 4-2 | Jim Teal, who is tied for 10th in the CA with a 1.14 WHIP, had a strong outing for the San Francisco Sailors against the Kansas City Mavericks at Prairie Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Mike Peter earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 3-3. The 4th-place Sailors go to 33-40.
San Francisco used the hitting of Woody Evans to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Sailors on top, 4-2. For the game, Evans had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Jim is a max effort guy," said San Francisco manager Bob Harris.
