| Rallying Mavericks Get 3-2 Win | The Kansas City Mavericks took Ed Smith's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Mavericks Stadium. The final score had Kansas City getting past the Wranglers, 3-2, in 11 innings. Smith over 9 innings allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3. John Moss was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-4. The losing pitcher was Jack Meeks. The win has Kansas City at 29-43.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Kansas City pinch hitter Raúl Zamora, facing Jack Meeks, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Mavericks the 3-2 win.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Vic Kramer.
