| Wolves Curb Foresters, 6-3 | The Toronto Wolves topped the Cleveland Foresters, 6-3, in Continental Association action at Dominion Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Toronto pitcher Al Bailey. The winner was Bailey. He threw 5.1 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Dick Couture. After today's action, Toronto sits at 33-36; Cleveland slips to 34-34.
Clyde Bradshaw had a big 2-run double for the Wolves in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Toronto leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Dick Couture and swatted a double to right. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolves ahead, 4-1.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Bradshaw told the Toronto Daily. "It's as simple as that." | |
