| Maddox Now 7-2 After Beating Saints | In a low-scoring affair between Milwaukee Arrows and the Montreal Saints, pitcher Mel Maddox was the difference-maker. The Milwaukee right-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 2-1 win. Bud Andrews sewed up the save, his 6th. The Arrows raised their record to 41-31.
Maddox earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Milwaukee. The right-hander allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Montreal hitters had little success against him.
"I made a lot of good pitches," said Maddox. "I was right where I wanted to be." | |
