The Boston Minutemen did not need a flawless effort from starter Ray Gonyea, not with their offense hitting on all cylinders. Boston dispatched the Philadelphia Keystones, 14-2. Boston is now 46-60.

Boston used the timely hitting of Bill Tutwiler to capture the win. The center fielder socked a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Minutemen ahead, 7-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Well, that ended badly," said losing manager Don Fox.
