Though he had a terrific game, Dale Mosley could not prevent his team, the Cleveland Foresters, from absorbing a loss. Montreal won the game, 6-5. Mosley was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Miguel Hernandez earned the save for Montreal, his 13th of the year. The third-place Saints now have a record of 35-35.

Jim Smith had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fifth for Montreal. With runners on 1st and 3rd and the Saints leading 5-3, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"It never gets old," said Smith. "Winning, that is."
