| Keystones 4-1 Victors Over Copperheads | The Philadelphia Keystones topped the Atlanta Copperheads, 4-1, in Federal Association action at Broad Street Park II. The standout performance belonged to Philadelphia pitcher and Hanover, Pennsylvania, native Doc Carver. Carver got the win, improving to 5-5. He gave up 8 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. The save was credited to Jim Steuber, his 12th.
Philadelphia took a 2-1 lead on Ed Walter's 14th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Walter hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Atlanta pitcher Jack Kotarski visibly frustrated.
"Doc was in attack mode the whole game," said Philadelphia manager Charlie Leist.
The loss makes Atlanta 45-25.
