| Keystones Pull Out Late-Game Win, 4-3 | Boston got a big-time effort from pitcher Bob Scott, but it wasn't enough to keep the Philadelphia Keystones from winning the game, 4-3. Scott threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The Keystones saw their win-loss record go to 31-35. At the same time, the Minutemen fell to 21-43.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Willis Love to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Keystones on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Boston manager Dode Edwards said, following the tough loss. | |
