| 3-2 Loss to Copperheads Extends Baltimore Losing Streak | The first-place Atlanta Copperheads picked up another win.
Atlanta turned a good effort from starter Howie Burt into a win over the Baltimore Clippers at Peachtree Stadium. The Copperheads won the game, 3-2. The slumping Clippers have lost 6 straight.
Atlanta right fielder Jack Blair contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a sinker to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 84th hit of the season and put the Copperheads ahead, 3-0.
"This team keeps finding a way to win," said Atlanta manager Don Fox. | |
