Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Minneapolis Millers and Houston Comets.

The Minneapolis Millers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Houston right fielder Del Goodell by beating the Comets, 11-5, at Hennepin County Stadium. Goodell was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Minneapolis pitcher Del Robinson got the win. He's now 6-0. Harry Taylor was tagged with the loss.

The Millers got a big hit from second baseman Gabe Peyton. In the bottom of the seventh, Peyton smacked a 2-run double off Houston pitcher Harry Taylor. It was his 9th double of the season. Suddenly, the Millers were ahead, 6-5.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Peyton said after the game.

The Millers now own a record of 31-36.
