Behind an impressive start by Curtis Robinson, New York beat Washington, 3-2. The save went to Jeff Pettigrew, his 13th this season. The Gothams now have a record of 32-34 with the win over Washington.

New York grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Robinson hit a 2-run double off Bill Kelly. His 1st double of the season put the Gothams out in front, 2-0.

Robinson told the New York Herald: "Don't care what other people think. Curtis knows who Curtis is."
