| Imperials Popped by Saints, 9-2 | The home crowd had a good time watching the New York Imperials and Montreal Saints get after it.
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 25-year old third baseman Andy Gilman, the Montreal Saints defeated the New York Imperials, 9-2. Phil Murry, credited with the win, is now 4-3. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits in 9 innings.
Tied up with the Imperials in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Saints got a boost from pitcher Phil Murry. With the bases loaded, Murry saw a 2-0 fastball from Eddie Webb and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Montreal on top, 4-2.
"I'll be honest," said Murry. "I was running on fumes at the end."
The Saints sport a record of 34-49.
