| Cannons Sting Sailors, 4-2 | Behind an impressive start by Moe Powell, Cincinnati beat San Francisco, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Powell, now 5-7. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 3. John Walker earned the save for Cincinnati, his 7th of the year.
Frank Bradshaw drove in one run for Cincinnati. The 32-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ralph Pierce. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"It never gets old," said Bradshaw. "Winning, that is."
The Cannons saw their win-loss record go to 33-32. At the same time, the Sailors fell to 31-40.
