Extra-Inning Win by Saints Over Cougars
Fans who congregated at Cougars Park were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Montreal Saints picked up a win at Cougars Park, knocking off the Chicago Cougars, 9-5, in 13 innings. On the mound for Montreal was left-hander Phil Murry. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. The win puts Montreal at 38-58.

Montreal used the timely hitting of Bill Elkins to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Saints on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I'll play 10 innings, I'll play 20," said Saints manager Lynn Gray. "Whatever it takes to win the ballgame."
