Sailors Beaten, 11-5, by Cannons
The Cincinnati Cannons topped the San Francisco Sailors, 11-5, with second baseman Al Farmer playing a big role. Farmer went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Cannons in the win. The 5th-place Cannons now sit at 49-48.

Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Larry Lewis to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cannons on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We maximized our offense today," said Cincinnati skipper Buddy Baumgart. "That makes everyone's life easier."
