| Dynamos in Free-Fall, Lose, 6-4 | The Boston Minutemen withstood a fine game by Detroit left fielder Dave Black at Minuteman Stadium, to upend the Dynamos, 6-4. Black was 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Harry Draper was credited with the save for Boston, his 3rd of the season. The win puts Boston at 38-29 this season.
Willie Stephens came through for Boston when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike splitter to center field, staking his team to a 4-2 lead.
