| Cougars Claw Out 2-1 Win | Lakefront Park was the site for Continental Association action featuring the Milwaukee Arrows and Chicago Cougars.
Roger Alford, who is tied for 3rd in the CA with a 0.96 WHIP, had a strong outing for the Chicago Cougars against the Milwaukee Arrows at Lakefront Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. Jim Norris closed the game out for Chicago, earning his 10th save.
Chicago used the hitting of Bob Menz to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cougars on top, 1-0. For the game, Menz had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Every loss stings," said Milwaukee manager Randy Hendrix. "This one is no exception."
