| Millers Need Extra Innings to Top Suns, 3-2 | In a low-scoring tilt between the Minneapolis Millers and the Los Angeles Suns, 23-year old right-handed pitcher Bob Ciaramella was the difference-maker. The Minneapolis right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 11 innings. The win belonged to Del Robinson in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Bill Garner took the loss for Los Angeles. The win gives Minneapolis a season record of 35-32.
Bill Barber, who is tied for 3rd in the FA in total bases with 130, had a direct impact on the outcome. Barber contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Minneapolis up, 3-2.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Millers manager Bill Bryan.
