| Tollefson Slugs Kings to 7-3 Win | Seattle beat San Francisco in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Fred Tollefson was a vital contributor to the 7-3 Seattle victory over San Francisco. The Kings catcher belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Bill Harris got the win, improving to 9-2. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0.
Tollefson had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Barry Schneider, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Kings a 7-3 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Tollefson.
"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Tollefson told the Seattle Citizen.
By defeating San Francisco, the first-place Kings improved to 48-20.
