| Arrows Get Clutch Win Versus Cleveland | Milwaukee pitcher Fred Smith did his part in helping his team beat the Cleveland Foresters, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Milwaukee reliever Jim Hart was the winner. His record is now 3-4. The losing pitcher was Bob V James. Milwaukee improves to 37-25 with the win. They lead their division by 6 games.
Milwaukee used a timely hit from Bucky Raymond to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Arrows ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Smith. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset." | |
