Wolves Popped by Wranglers, 7-4 | The Dallas Wranglers beat the Toronto Wolves, 7-4, at Norris Stadium. Dallas left fielder Elmer Piper banged out 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Charlie Mills went 6 innings for Dallas to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record improves to 1-1. The Wolves fall to 8-11 and continue their uninspiring start to the 1963 season.
With Dallas leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Piper hit a fastball from George Hoxworth for a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Wranglers ahead, 2-0.
