Slide Continues for Suns | The New York Gothams weathered a fine game by Los Angeles catcher Stan Czerwinski to upend the Suns, 5-3, at Gotham Stadium. Czerwinski was 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Los Angeles.
New York center fielder Armando Estrada contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a cutter to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 26th hit of the season and put the Gothams ahead, 3-0.
"We've hit a lull," said Los Angeles manager Bill Morrill. | |
