| Francis Helps Houston Cruise to 10-3 Win | The Houston Comets topped the Chicago Chiefs by a score of 10-3. Leading the way was center fielder Stan Francis. Francis was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Comets. The victory gives Houston a record of 38-31.
With Houston leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Francis hit a cutter from Walt Jackson for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Comets ahead, 3-0.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Houston manager Glenn Carney.
