| Cougars Win at Home, 5-3 | The Chicago Cougars put the giddy home crowd in an even more jubilant mood after beating the New York Imperials in the season opener at Cougars Park. Shortstop Tom Halliday won plaudits for Chicago. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the sixth when Halliday hit a 2-run single. It thrust the Cougars into the lead, 5-3.
Halliday told a Chicago Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
