| Boston Defeated By Copperheads, 10-1 | The Atlanta Copperheads torpedoed the Boston Minutemen at Minuteman Stadium. The final score was 10-1, Atlanta. Don Riley went 2-for-4 for the winning team. Curly Anderson finished the game for Atlanta and earned his 1st save. The Federal Association East-leading Copperheads are 44-20.
Jack Blair had a big 2-run double for the Copperheads in the top of the fifth inning. With Atlanta leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Johnny Hall, who is tied for 8th in the FA in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Copperheads ahead, 4-0.
