| Foresters Pick Up 4-2 Win Against Milwaukee | The Cleveland Foresters topped the Milwaukee Arrows, 4-2, in Continental Association action at Forester Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleveland pitcher Roy Rice. Rice, now 8-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. With this game in the books, Cleveland is 28-32, Milwaukee 36-24.
Had Andy Barrington not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Barrington hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Foresters.
Barrington called the win a test of his team's "mettle." | |
