Miners Deal Eagles 3-2 Loss
The Pittsburgh Miners outlasted the Washington Eagles in an extra-inning thriller.

The Pittsburgh Miners picked up a win at Fitzpatrick Park, knocking off the Washington Eagles, 3-2, in 11 innings. Starting pitcher Clay Buddemeyer played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Hank Cook in relief. His record improves to 5-7. Dick Adams Jr. took the loss.

The Miners got a clutch hit from third baseman Roy Lynch. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Miners.

"We busted our tails," said Washington manager Roger Cleaves. "But we came up short."

The 5th-place Miners have won 4 in a row.
