The Pittsburgh Miners rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Mike Blackham to a win, beating the Boston Minutemen, 7-2, at Minuteman Stadium. The winning pitcher was Blackham, now 11-12. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Pittsburgh bumps their record to 74-77 with the win.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Roy McGee? The 22-year old center fielder McGee stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 6-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Blackham.
